The Club aims to encourage a culture of risk awareness and safety at sea by organising events with a safety focus.  All suggestions and ideas on events are welcome.

The club carries insurance for its equipment, property, and third party liability. Members are however reminded, that they take to the sea and engage in Club activities at their own risk.  The Club does not own lifejackets or buoyancy aids and members are expected to provide their own.  All members are advised to wear them at all times on the water, especially in small boats and tenders.  It is compulsory to wear lifejackets or buoyancy aids when using Club boats.

Members who own larger boats are expected to have a minimum of £2,000,000 third party cover if engaged in Club activities. This should include cover for launching and recovery, and storage ashore.

Cruising boats are expected to carry at least the minimum safety equipment as specified by the MCA. Storage of fuel cans and toxic or flammable substances in the clubhouse is prohibited.

The Club is located in a harbour area.  It is important that members observe the harbour byelaws, take due regard of commercial activities in the Loch and contact the Harbour Master prior to using the pier and its facilities.
